Hello Alfisti,
Well it has been a good month. We have 3 new
members, Clay and Erin Miller, and Steve
Enyeart with Nacho the dog, all of which went
on the Alpine tour.
Speaking of the Alpine tour, we left 10 minutes
late from the starting point, arriving in
downtown Safford about 11:15 for our
reservation at El Charro. They gave us the back
room to ourselves. Food was very good as well
as the service.
From El Charro we started our trek to Morenci.
Stopping at the train station in Clifton for a car
photo lineup. Some locals were having a
gathering at the train station so the parking lot
was packed and not conducive for a photo.
We had some guest marquis' join us including 2
Porches, 1 BMW, and 2 Corvettes. These drivers
and guests were great company and they
enjoyed themselves. There was an '85 spider, an
'87 Milano, two Stelvios and a Guilia from the
AAROC. I am glad to say that there were no
breakdowns.
The Long Shadow Lodge did a wonderful job
catering dinner and breakfast for us. The new
owners are putting their best foot forward to
bring back the hospitality that it used to have a
decade ago.
See you at the dinner meeting.
Ciao,
Mark
